What you'll do: As the GL Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in supervising a team of accountants/analysts. Your leadership will guide them through general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy in monthly accounting closes, balance sheet reconciliations, and report generation. You'll also collaborate with various departments to streamline transaction processing and master data review. A key aspect of your role will be leading initiatives for process improvements and driving standardisation within the department. Your expertise will help us maintain commitment to excellence.
Supervise, coach and review the work of a group of accountants/analysts carrying out general ledger (GL) and overhead accounting activities
Oversee monthly accounting close, including posting of journal entries, generating, and analysing reports for assigned account(s)
Coordinate balance sheet reconciliation and preparation of schedules to support disclosure requirements
Collaborate with other finance, business and operation departments to process transactions and review master data
Lead process improvements to rectify errors and process gaps
Drive standardisation of GL/overhead accounting processes
What you bring: The ideal candidate for the General Ledger Team Lead position brings a wealth of experience from audit or finance-related roles within multinational companies. With at least 10 years under your belt, you have developed a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices. Your professional qualifications in accounting (CPA/ACCA or equivalent) further demonstrate your expertise. As a leader, you are known for your effective team management and interpersonal skills. Your proficiency in SAP will be crucial in this role, and additional language skills such as Mandarin or Spanish would be a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance or equivalent
Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA or equivalent)
Minimum of 10 years' experience in audit or finance-related roles within multinational companies
Strong foundation in accounting principles and practices; US GAAP knowledge is advantageous
Proven leadership skills with a track record of effective team management
Proficiency in SAP; additional language skills such as Mandarin or Spanish are beneficial
