What you'll do:

As a Quality Assurance Engineer based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of robust software solutions. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with various teams to understand product requirements deeply. You will design comprehensive test scenarios tailored to business needs while performing rigorous testing across multiple phases—functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end. By developing automated test cases using modern tools and maintaining regression packs, you will help ensure ongoing reliability of key functionalities. Your responsibilities also include assisting with bug investigations alongside developers, maintaining CI/CD-compatible scripts, promoting best practices in software quality assurance, communicating progress clearly, raising any blockers promptly, and keeping meticulous records through enhanced documentation. * Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing on tasks and epics to validate software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
* Develop and maintain an up-to-date regression pack that supports ongoing testing efforts for essential product features, helping safeguard against potential issues.
* Write, execute, and maintain detailed test cases for automation using industry-standard tools such as Playwright, Cypress, K6, and Postman.
* Assist in bug reproduction and investigation by working closely with developers on root cause analysis to facilitate timely resolution of issues.
* Maintain test scripts optimised for execution within CI/CD environments using platforms like GitLab or TeamCity to ensure seamless integration into deployment pipelines.
* Promote the delivery of quality software by advocating best practices in testing and collaborating with stakeholders to uphold high standards.
* Communicate effectively regarding progress on assigned tasks and raise impediments early to minimise impact on project delivery timelines.
* Support the maintenance and enhancement of test documentation including test scenarios and bug reports to ensure transparency and traceability.

What you bring:

To excel as a Quality Assurance Engineer in this organisation, your background should reflect substantial hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing within complex software development settings. Your technical proficiency should encompass front-end interfaces as well as APIs—supported by solid skills in scripting languages like TypeScript or JavaScript—and familiarity with automation tools such as Playwright or Cypress. Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines using platforms like GitLab or TeamCity is highly valued. Ideally, you bring relevant certifications (such as ISTQB) or have completed Agile-focused training courses. * Proven experience in quality assurance across both automated and manual testing within software development environments for at least three years.
* Demonstrated ability with front-end, API, and end-to-end testing over two or more years.
* Expertise in developing and maintaining automated scripts using tools such as Playwright (preferably with TypeScript), Cypress, K6, or Postman.
* Strong preference for candidates skilled in scripting languages like TypeScript or JavaScript for building effective automation frameworks.
* Experience utilising CI/CD tooling such as GitLab or TeamCity to integrate automated tests into deployment pipelines efficiently.
* Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tools for tracking tasks, bugs, and progress throughout the development cycle.
* Ability to maintain comprehensive test documentation including detailed test scenarios and clear bug reports for transparency.
* Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organisational skills that enable effective multitasking across simultaneous projects.
* A proactive approach paired with independence in managing workload while remaining responsive within a team setting.
* Preferred qualifications include ISTQB certification or completion of Agile software testing courses; experience with Playwright using TypeScript; proficiency in API testing via Postman; knowledge of C# is advantageous; positive attitude towards teamwork; understanding of Agile methodologies.
