What you'll do: You will play an integral role in driving the success of digital banking initiatives by overseeing the entire application development process from conception through maintenance. • Collaborate closely with Technical Delivery Managers, System Analysts, and Tribe Leads to ensure overall solution integrity and successful deliverability of projects.
  • Provide timely updates and comprehensive reports to management regarding project status, risks, achievements, and resource allocation.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to prioritise tasks against available capacity while balancing strategic objectives with operational needs.
  • Contribute actively to improvement initiatives related to methods, tools, people development, architecture enhancements, project management practices, and governance frameworks.

What you bring: Your extensive background in software engineering equips you with the technical acumen required for this Java Developer position. Your interpersonal skills facilitate clear communication between technical teams and business stakeholders alike.

  • Minimum five years’ proven experience in software development with a focus on digital banking or similar financial technology environments.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience leading squads or teams of six to eight members in both task management and technical decision-making responsibilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of full stack development including HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React), Java (JSP/J2EE/EJB), Spring Boot framework, Shell scripting techniques, and microservices architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with web content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager Forms/Sites or TeamSite is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies with practical experience using Jira & Confluence for workflow management and collaboration.
  • Knowledgeable about DevOps practices including CI/CD tooling which would be considered an added advantage for this role.
  • Solid grasp of retail or internet banking domain concepts with an ability to translate functional specifications into effective technological solutions.
