What you'll do: As a Java Developer specialising in IBM FileNet within the Enterprise Workflow System team based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in designing sophisticated workflow solutions that underpin critical business processes. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams including system analysts for requirement clarification, domain architects for design alignment, developers for implementation tasks, QA teams for rigorous testing cycles, and security architects for integrating essential safeguards.
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade workflow applications using IBM FileNet, IBM Case Manager, IBM Content Navigator (ICN), and related platforms to meet evolving business needs.
- Translate both functional and non-functional requirements into detailed technical specifications and system designs that align with organisational standards.
- Collaborate closely with system analysts, domain architects, developers, QA teams, and security architects to ensure seamless project delivery and integration of security safeguards.
- Conduct thorough code reviews as well as unit and integration testing to uphold software quality, performance standards, and reliability across all environments.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues in both development and production settings while ensuring timely resolution to minimise disruption.
- Document comprehensive technical designs, configurations, operational procedures, and best practices for future reference and team knowledge sharing.
- Ensure strict compliance with architectural standards, security policies, and established development practices throughout the software lifecycle.
- Provide technical input for impact assessments and effort estimations related to change requests to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives aimed at evaluating new technologies or validating innovative design approaches within the workflow domain.
- Support various testing phases by assisting in defect resolution and clarifying test findings for stakeholders across business, operations, and technology teams.
What you bring: In the role of Java Developer specialising in IBM FileNet you will bring extensive experience from enterprise software development environments—ideally within banking or financial services—which enables you to understand complex business requirements quickly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field demonstrating foundational knowledge required for enterprise software development.
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in enterprise software development environments with exposure to banking or financial services being highly desirable.
- Proven expertise working with IBM FileNet suite including IBM Case Manager, ICM Widgets, and IBM Content Navigator (ICN) for building scalable workflow applications.
- Advanced proficiency in Java programming complemented by strong skills in JavaScript (including Dojo framework) and SQL for backend integration.
- Experience managing Oracle databases as well as open systems environments which supports robust application deployment.
- Familiarity with IBM DataCap solutions along with BPM tools enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive workflow systems; understanding UI/UX design principles is considered advantageous.
- Solid grasp of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies especially waterfall models ensuring structured project execution.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within distributed teams including offshore colleagues promoting shared success across geographies.
- Track record of providing technical input during impact assessments or effort estimations related to change requests facilitating transparent planning processes.
