About the Head of Software Engineering Role:
You will be responsible and accountable for overall application development and modernisation for a set of IT product solutions (i.e. BPM, customer communication, CRM, RPA, process automations) which requires you to deliver, support, communicate and influence the product life cycle and delivery with multiple stakeholders (within IT, third party vendors, business senior leadership team) while aligning to overall company objectives. Champion Agile and quality mindset and lead the change development of a high-performance team for application delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver and execute the development, design and implementation of applications modernisation and enhancements
• Enforce modernise systems and enhancements are adhered to software development life cycle, software quality management and enterprise architecture framework
• Ensure application availability with timely resolution of issues and problems
• Optimise and prioritise team resources to maximise business value generation
• Manage, negotiate and influence relationships with senior leadership team and managers (inter and intra divisional) to deliver credible and consistent solution services
• Manage, negotiate and influence vendor, business partner and group IT relationships to provide delivery flexibility
• Lead and influence team culture and governance on cost-efficient, agile and flexible delivery of IT solutions

To succeed in this role, you would need to have solid experience in driving and implementing new IT solutions in helping company modernise their technologies.

Key Requirements:

• More than 10 years of experience leading an application development team. You are expected to lead a team of 15 - 20 technical specialists and potentially ramping up the contract resources
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in:
• Azure cloud application architecture
• Business Rule Engines
• BPM, Workflow
• Content Management System
• Customer Communication Management
• SMS/Email/WhatsApp API and gateways
• Project experience as technology specialist in modernising application in Azure cloud, SaaS solution implementation, and Agile project implementation
• Experience in vendor management on SLA and support maintenance
• Strong knowledge best application and data access coding practices
• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with management team, internal and external stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Domain proficiency in insurance business and its operations
• Able to be an effective team lead and player in both waterfall and agile delivery methodology
• Able to lead a team to deliver multiple projects of high complexity
• Experience in lean process development and design thinking is an added advantage
