An exciting Associate Director - Software Engineering job has just become available at one of the most well-established financial services firm based in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting to the Head of Engineering you will champion an Agile and quality mindset and lead the change development of a high-performance team for application delivery.

About the Associate Director - Software Engineering Role:
You will be responsible and accountable for the overall application development and modernisation for a set of IT product solutions (i.e. BPM, customer communication, CRM, RPA, process automations) which requires you to deliver, support, communicate and influence the product life cycle and delivery with multiple stakeholders (within IT, third party vendors, business senior leadership team) while aligning to overall company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver and execute the development, design and implementation of applications modernisation and enhancements
• Enforce modernise systems and enhancements are adhered to software development life cycle, software quality management and enterprise architecture framework
• Ensure application availability with timely resolution of issues and problems
• Optimise and prioritise team resources to maximise business value generation
• Manage, negotiate and influence relationships with senior leadership team and managers (inter and intra divisional) to deliver credible and consistent solution services
• Manage, negotiate and influence vendor, business partner and group IT relationships to provide delivery flexibility
• Lead and influence team culture and governance on cost-efficient, agile and flexible delivery of IT solutions
• Identify and develop specialists to build a high-performing team to maximise delivery to support business demands
• Set clear direction, goals and engaging staff to translate these into personal actions

The successful incumbent will develop, coach, mentor the specialists and high performers through effective learning and development.

Key Requirements:

• More than 10 years of experience leading an application development team. You are expected to lead a team of 10 - 15 technical specialists and potentially ramping up the contract resources
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in:
1. Azure cloud application architecture
2. Business rule engines
3. BPM, Workflow
4. Content management system
5. Customer communication management
6. SMS/Email/WhatsApp API and gateways
• Project experience as technology specialist in modernising application in Azure cloud, SaaS solution implementation, and Agile project implementation
• Experience in vendor management on SLA and support maintenance
• Best application and data access coding practices
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with management team, internal and external stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to be an effective team lead and player in both waterfall and agile delivery methodology
• Experience in lean process development and design thinking is an advantage
