MES Engineer

A renowned manufacturing and production company in the automotive industry in Penang is recruiting for an MES Engineer job to set up and manage plant MES architecture including system configuration, data automation and system administration. This position plans, configures, and technically installs MES in new and existing production lines.

About the MES Engineer Role:
In this key position, the MES Engineer collects relevant data for analysis and finds the solution with good collaboration with cross functional production teams. You will also troubleshoot and fix MES and traceability technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and traceability at our manufacturing facility Penang, including roadmap planning, project management and ensure stable operations
• Set up and manage plant MES architecture including system configuration, data automation and system administration
• Plan, configure, and technically install MES in new and existing production lines by working closely with Bosch international and local technical teams
• Troubleshooting and fix of MES and traceability technical issues which occur in daily operations to ensure 100% operations of the system in plant
• Implementation of MES support and emergency concept in plant including training of key users in operations and service
• Schedule and perform MES system updates in the plant and maintain the system components
• Active participation in the MES competence network across other plants, experts and headquarter
• Shape the future of digitalisation by data integration and engineering of MES connectivity to data analytics platform
• Actively support the implementation of Industry 4.0 projects and Data Analytics solutions

To succeed in this MES Engineer role, you must have extensive knowledge of box-build assembly processes and strong people management skills.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent
• Minimum of three years' professional experience in related field
• At least one year of practical experience in Manufacturing Execution System and working experience in an international operating company
• Expertise in MES system configuration, installation, technical setup, maintenance, and related IT systems integration
• Experience in IT (infrastructure, server management, networks, databases, cyber physic. systems)
• Operational experience in programming languages (e.g. Oracle, SQL, C, VB, NET)
• Experience in MES development and PLC technic as added advantage
• Strong dedication, interest, and motivation to proactively drive new and improvement topics
• Ability to prioritise, plan and organise work independently
• Good team player, cooperative, communicative, result and quality oriented
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
