Senior IT Application Support Engineer

An exciting Senior IT Application Support Engineer job has just become available at one of the most respected electronics manufacturing firm based in Penang. This is a role for Senior IT Application Support Engineer who will manage, resolve, guide users in identifying and solving complex issues.

About the Senior IT Application Support Engineer Role:
Due to excellent results and future expansion plans, the Senior IT Application Support Engineer will play a key role in understanding business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions to enable the organisation to achieve its goals. This position is required to interact with business users by leveraging and updating in-house knowledge base portal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team lead for level one and two for support group
• Set customer expectations, and identify, isolate and resolve problems
• Aid and support in manufacturing zebra label development
• Provide guidance to junior support engineers
• Manage and maintain in-house knowledge base system to ensure minimum off-office-hour calls
• Work with the development team to ensure proper documentation and changes are communicated
• Work with minimal supervision on complex issues with wide latitude for independent judgement
• Work within defined objectives, priorities, dead line and adapts guidelines to specific situations
• Perform in-house IT job related duties as assigned from time to time

To succeed in this role, you are required to possess experience in cross-functional team management and have strong knowledge in providing technical support in manufacturing and production shop floor.

Key requirements:

• At least a bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology or equivalent
• At least three years of work experience in a related field
• Good technical skills and support experience in ASP.NET/C# web application and Oracle PLSQL
• Experience in MES/Camstar application is advantageous
• Work independently with minimum supervision
• Expected to support during non-working hours in case of urgency
• Proven experience in solving software and application problems
