IT Project Manager (ERP / Transformation)(2 Yrs Contract)

A leading organisation in PJ is seeking an IT Project Manager to guide and deliver end-to-end IT programmes and projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and organisational methodologies. This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse project portfolios, integrating business analysis and PMO governance responsibilities while fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

What you'll do:

As an IT Project Manager based in PJ, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the successful delivery of technology-driven projects across the organisation.

• Guide full project lifecycle activities including planning, execution, monitoring, go-live readiness, and closure for multiple IT initiatives.
• Develop comprehensive project artefacts such as business cases, charters, plans, test strategies, and lessons learned documentation to ensure structured delivery.
• Monitor scope, schedule, cost, quality standards, and benefits realisation throughout each project phase while maintaining compliance with established methodologies.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests using robust governance frameworks to ensure successful outcomes.
• Engage stakeholders to gather detailed business and system requirements; document these in Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and secure necessary sign-offs.
• Map current ('as-is') and future ('to-be') processes; recommend improvements that optimise operations and advise stakeholders on change impacts.
• Maintain PMO standards by preparing executive dashboards, reports for Steering Committees, tracking portfolio pipeline progress, and supporting demand planning.
• Oversee project budgets by monitoring forecasts and cost performance; implement corrective actions when variances arise to maintain financial health.
• Lead vendor sourcing activities including RFI/RFP processes; manage tender exercises, contract negotiations, onboarding vendors, and overseeing delivery performance.
• Plan User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensure defect resolution prior to deployment, oversee go-live readiness activities, and conduct post-implementation reviews.

What you bring:

To excel as an IT Project Manager in this organisation based in PJ, you should bring a solid foundation in technology project management supported by relevant academic qualifications.

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business or related discipline is required for this position.
• At least five years’ proven experience managing large-scale IT projects or programmes across multiple functions is essential.
• Demonstrated ability in business analysis including gathering requirements, developing BRDs, mapping processes and advising on change impacts is highly valued.
• Strong background in PMO governance practices such as maintaining standards/templates and preparing executive-level reports is expected.
• Experience delivering IT implementations involving ERP systems, digital platforms or system integrations is advantageous.
• PMP or CAPM certification (or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory; candidates with relevant practical experience are encouraged to apply.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Agile (Scrum), Waterfall or hybrid methodologies for project management is required.
• Familiarity with industries such as automotive or logistics would be beneficial though not essential for success in this role.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with high attention to detail regarding governance/documentation standards are sought after.
• Proficiency in tools like JIRA, MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint alongside fluent written/spoken English communication abilities are necessary.
