An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of PMO to lead and drive business growth and strategic expansion within a dynamic fintech company. This role requires a highly capable and strategic leader to oversee project management, streamline operations, and drive the successful implementation of innovative fintech solutions.
What you'll do:
As Head of PMO, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring the successful delivery of strategic projects that drive business growth, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on project governance, ensuring projects are executed with excellence while aligning with company’s objectives as a fintech government-linked company with niche skill requirements.
• Develop and implement a PMO strategy and governance framework tailored to the company’s fintech operations, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Establish and enforce project management standards, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management are embedded into project execution and governance.
• Design and oversee project governance structures, reporting frameworks, and risk management protocols.
• Lead the end-to-end execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring projects align with the company’s vision and objectives.
• Monitor and optimize project portfolio performance, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality delivery.
• Proactively identify and mitigate cross-functional risks, dependencies, and operational bottlenecks.
• Foster an agile and adaptable project execution approach that balances fintech innovation with risk control.
• Lead risk mitigation efforts and swiftly resolve project challenges to maintain momentum and efficiency.
• Manage escalations effectively, ensuring critical issues are addressed in a timely and strategic manner.
• Optimize resource allocation by leveraging internal talent and external vendors for maximum efficiency.
• Oversee budgeting and financial tracking of key strategic initiatives to ensure cost efficiency.
• Manage third-party vendors, consultants, and fintech partners to enhance execution capabilities.
• Champion the adoption of advanced project management tools and fintech solutions for improved efficiency.
• Implement automation, reporting dashboards, and data-driven decision-making frameworks.
• Continuously refine project delivery processes to drive efficiency, scalability, and impact.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Head of PMO, Fintech position will possess a unique blend of strategic vision, operational excellence, and an innovative mindset. You have a proven track record of driving project governance, delivering strategic initiatives, and implementing scalable solutions that support business growth and digital transformation.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, IT, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in project/program management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a PMO or strategy function. Experience in fintech, financial services, or regulated industries is an advantage.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
• Strong strategic thinking and execution capabilities in a fintech/regulatory environment.
• Expertise in portfolio, program, and project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
• Ability to balance governance and agility to meet fintech and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, ServiceNow, Monday.com).
