An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned professional to join our team as a Senior Manager in the Project Management Office.

This role is integral to our ambitious new Finance Programme, aimed at modernising our finance function and driving consistent performance across all markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining project management standards, methodologies, and best practices. In addition to PMO duties, the Senior Manager also serves as the Kuala Lumpur site lead, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Manager in the Project Management Office (PMO), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our finance function. You will be entrusted with managing the PMO, refining governance frameworks and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your ability to develop regular status reports and executive updates will be crucial in keeping senior management informed about programme progress. As the Kuala Lumpur site lead, you will resolve operational issues promptly while fostering an environment of learning through training and knowledge sharing opportunities. Your role will also involve acting as a bridge between PMO and Process Excellence Enablement teams to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

  • Manage the PMO, refining governance frameworks, methodologies, tools, and templates to effectively monitor programme progress
  • Develop regular status reports, executive updates, and presentations on programme progress
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best-in-class project management practices throughout the programme
  • Ensure knowledge base and project documentations are properly documented and updated timely
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders to ensure alignment of project deliverables
  • Support ad-hoc projects assignments
  • Resolve operational issues promptly, providing training and knowledge sharing opportunities to enhance team capabilities
  • Act as a bridge between PMO and Process Excellence Enablement, facilitating communication, collaboration, and support
  • Manage software licenses efficiently, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Manager position brings a wealth of experience in Project Management or Change Management, preferably from an insurance or Financial Services background. You will have a minimum of 8-10 years' experience and proficiency in PMO software tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, JIRA or Confluence. Your excellent stakeholder management skills will be crucial in this role, along with your ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. We are looking for someone who can work independently and collaboratively with different stakeholders, demonstrating strong organisation and project management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree with certifications such as PMP, Agile or LEAN preferred
  • Minimum of 8 – 10 years’ experience in Project Management or Change Management
  • Proficiency in PMO software tools/systems such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, JIRA or Confluence
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different stakeholders
  • Strong organisation and project management skills
