Head of Project Management

An interesting Head of Project Management job has become available at one of the financial institutions based in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting directly to the Director, this is a role is for a leader within the project management department.

About this Head of Project Management Role:
This position manages and organises company strategic and cross-functional complex projects or programmes and ensures the projects or programmes deliver the desirable outcome.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the successful implementation of the PMO’s governance, responsibilities and services
• Lead a team of project managers to deliver projects successfully within predefined scope, timeline, budget and quality
• Strategise, guide and orchestrate project planning, milestone management, scope management and resource forecasting
• Ensure cross-project dependencies are managed and the dependency log is accurately maintained
• Conduct regular progress reviews and ensures planned tasks execution are on schedule
• As the second line of support for project risk/issues escalation and resolution
• Ability to competently mediate disagreements and negotiate agreeable resolutions
• Build cohesion within the team and motivate team to produce quality work
• Prepare Report and facilitate project progress update to Steering Committee (Steereo) and Senior Management.
• Responsible for budget management and change management across project portfolio

To succeed in this role, you are required to possess experience in leading a project management team

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is a plus
• Project management professional certification
• Scrum master certification
• Minimum of 8 - 15 years’ experience as a project manager or project director with proven track record of delivering large-scale projects successfully
• Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices
• Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools:
  • Agile Project Management tools such as Jira, Trello or equivalent
  • Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools
