About the Senior IT Manager (Retail Application) Role:
The Senior IT Manager for Retail is responsible for overseeing and leading the IT functions. This role involves managing the technology systems that support retail operations, customer experiences, and business growth. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the Senior IT Manager collaborates with retail leadership to develop and execute IT strategies that enhance efficiency, optimise processes, and deliver exceptional retail services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business executives to define and execute IT strategies that align with the company's retail business objectives
• Evaluate emerging retail technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the retail technology infrastructure, including POS systems, inventory management, e-commerce platforms, and back-end retail systems
• Manage IT projects specific to retail, including the deployment of new retail technologies, systems integrations, and enhancements to improve customer experiences and operational efficiency
• Lead the implementation and integration of omnichannel retail solutions that provide a seamless customer experience across multiple sales channels, such as in-store, online, and mobile
• Leverage data analytics to gain insights into customer behaviour, sales trends, and inventory management, enabling data-driven decision-making for retail strategies
• Evaluate, select, and manage technology vendors and partners that provide retail-specific solutions and services
• Foster a collaborative and customer-focused IT team that contributes to the success of the retail business
• Provide regular updates on IT initiatives, projects, and performance metrics to stakeholders

To succeed in this role, you will need to have experience in managing or delivering IT applications within the retail industry. This role requires a blend of retail expertise, IT leadership, and strategic thinking to align technology solutions with the unique needs of the retail industry.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field; Master's degree is preferred
• Relevant certifications in retail technology, project management, or IT service management is advantageous
• Proven experience (typically eight or more years) in IT leadership roles within the retail industry
• Strong understanding of retail operations, Point of Sale (POS) systems, inventory management, e-commerce platforms, and omnichannel retail strategies
• Demonstrated experience in managing retail technology projects, from requirements gathering to implementation
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse IT team
