A new Head of Enterprise Software Solutions job has recently been made available at a sports governing body based in Kuala Lumpur.
About the Head of Enterprise Software Solutions Role:
The Head of Enterprise Software Solutions is responsible for leading, planning, designing, developing, and maintaining the association's complete software systems including both internal legacy and third-party bespoke solutions that are directly related to the association's functions/activities, as well as other proprietary software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Engineering Services and Solutions Architect resources in planning and delivering the required outcomes
- Establish the required operating standards and best practices to meet the expectations of internal customers
- Engage internal customers in defining needs and solutions with measured improvements in operations efficiency
- Responsible for costs and budget of the unit and plan and execute in alignment with set objectives
- Provide regular updates to both internal customers and department head on progress and improvements planned
- Define the right project management methodology and ensure projects are executed as planned
- Lead, delegate, monitor, and verify tasks assigned to a team of developers
To succeed in this Head of Enterprise Software Solutions role, you must be able to bridge the gap between business requirements and develop and align solutions with the Innovative Technology and Transformation Department's technology roadmap, and must have a strong understanding of current and future trends as well as best practices.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Computer Science
- At least seven years' experience managing software development or software product management
- Prior experience in leading legacy modernisation projects, designing and building bespoke solutions, including cloud architecture
- Experience implementing DevOps models and ensuring both Software and Infrastructure teams work as a team
- Ability to facilitate and coordinate with internal and vendor resources to deliver the required outcomes
- Technical ability to review and address software technology and development improvements
- Experience in client facing engagements and proposing solutions to Senior Management
- Experience in data warehousing and data analytics, having implemented similar solutions in recent projects
- Preferably experience in working in a sports industry, building software solutions
