Network Consultant (Forward Certified)

Save job

A leading global technology provider is excited to hire Network Consultants in Kuala Lumpur to support regional SD-WAN rollouts and migrations. If you have SD-WAN exposure and are eager to grow, you’ll be supported by experienced elite senior network engineers while gaining hands-on delivery experience across documentation, configuration support, change windows and troubleshooting. Expect a collaborative team that values learning, knowledge-sharing and flexible working.

What you'll do:

As a Forward certified Network Consultant, you will:

  • Prepare or update High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) sections, technical diagrams and handover notes to facilitate smooth transitions between project phases.
  • Assist in SD-WAN deployment activities including site onboarding, policy templating, basic routing integration and implementation support under the guidance of senior consultants.
  • Support migration and cutover processes from legacy MPLS networks to SD-WAN or hybrid WAN environments, preparing for change windows and conducting validation checks.
  • Participate in post-deployment troubleshooting efforts focused on routing issues, tunnel stability, application performance optimisation and policy misroutes.
  • Contribute to the integration of existing routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF or IS-IS into new network designs to ensure seamless connectivity across diverse environments.
  • Maintain accurate IP plans, interface documentation, routing records, and implementation.
  • Engage with customers during calls to clarify requirements, confirm site readiness, and align implementation steps with stakeholder expectations.
  • Coordinate with Network Operations Centre (NOC), field engineers, vendors, and other project participants to ensure timely delivery of network solutions.
  • Demonstrate structured working practices by adhering to documentation standards and maintaining clear records throughout the project lifecycle.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this position brings:

  • SD-WAN exposure through delivery support (deployments, incident troubleshooting, policy changes, site onboarding, cutovers/migrations). End-to-end ownership is preferred but strong learning mindset is essential.
  • Strong networking fundamentals: IP addressing/subnetting, VLANs, routing (e.g., BGP/OSPF), and baseline security/VPN concepts in enterprise environments.
  • Delivery-ready mindset: comfortable with documentation discipline, change windows, and coordinating effectively with NOC/field teams, customers, and vendors.
  • Forward Networks certification is mandatory; alternatively, meaningful hands-on exposure plus commitment to certify within 1–3 months is valued.
  • Background in SI, managed services, principal/vendor environments is an advantage
  • Experience supporting multi-site / regional rollouts is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, NSE4+, JNCIA, HCIA/HCIP) are appreciated.
  • Able to articulate SD-WAN work using clear, real examples (what you did, how, and outcomes).
  • Demonstrated ability to support day-to-day delivery tasks (site readiness checks, basic config changes, LLD updates, troubleshooting triage) with minimal supervision.

What sets this company apart:

This organisation offers an inclusive, collaborative culture with strong mentorship and supportive leadership. Flexible working arrangements and generous training enable continuous development, while regional-scale projects provide hands-on exposure to modern network technologies. You’ll grow alongside dependable teammates in a high-trust environment that supports both performance and wellbeing.
