What you'll do:

As a Business Intelligence Specialist based in Penang, you will immerse yourself in the full lifecycle of business intelligence solution delivery. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with both technical colleagues—such as Snowflake engineers—and non-technical stakeholders to translate complex business questions into meaningful analytics. You will be responsible for designing visually engaging dashboards using Power BI or similar platforms like Tableau or Fabric. Your focus on user experience will ensure that every dashboard not only looks outstanding but also provides intuitive navigation for executives and business users alike. By building reusable components and templates, you will empower teams throughout the organisation to access self-service analytics efficiently. Your expertise in backend data practices will be essential as you partner with engineering teams to optimise data structures for reporting. You will also play a key role in troubleshooting data issues, supporting ETL processes, validating datasets using SQL, and ensuring robust data governance. Prototyping new solutions quickly in response to changing priorities will keep your work varied and engaging. • Design and build visually consistent Power BI dashboards tailored for executives and business users, ensuring clarity and usability through a robust design system.
• Develop reusable visual components such as KPI tiles, cards, sparklines, decomposition trees, and page templates to enable self-service analytics across teams.
• Partner closely with data engineers to shape Gold views and tables for business intelligence purposes, utilising SQL for data validation and transformation tasks.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data extraction while supporting ETL processes and maintaining reliable data pipelines.
• Continuously improve dashboard user experience by implementing clear layouts, synchronised filters, and intuitive interactions that enhance stakeholder engagement.
• Prototype new dashboard models rapidly based on evolving business needs, collaborating closely with stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Develop comprehensive test plans to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of all business intelligence outputs before deployment.
• Maintain rigorous data security standards by implementing row-level security (RLS) where necessary to protect sensitive information.
• Support ongoing training initiatives by providing documentation and guidance on dashboard usage for end users across the organisation.

• Solid SQL skills are necessary for validating structured datasets and collaborating effectively with data engineering teams.

• Strong attention to detail combined with exceptional organisational skills enables you to manage multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality.
