An Application Support Team Lead job has become available at a well-established and dynamic foreign bank in Kuala Lumpur, to lead application support team within the bank.
About the Application Support Team Lead Role:
In this role, you will be leading the Leval 2 Application Support team and manage a team of six personnel to support local payment systems (IBG, JOMPAY, Paymentz, RPP, cheque works, etc.), regulatory systems, reporting systems, head office systems or any other systems under the purview, and at the same time adhering to local regulatory, HQ and regional compliant requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support both individual and team KPIs. Ensure tasks assigned and completed are tracked and reported periodically
- Understand user requirements and provide application support to users
- Participate in technology requisition and deployment in line with head office and regional enterprise architecture design
- Maintain local regulatory reporting systems
- Ensure compliance to the internal control and standards and also to comply with regulatory requirements
- Support planning, managing, and testing of DRP and BCP of business applications to achieve successful fail-over when the situation arises
- Manage the customer engagement process
- Ensure cases, bug-fixes and minor enhancements statuses are updated in the support system. This will require liaising with developers to estimate the delivery time frames and implications
- Participate in functional specifications with project team for small changes to the application projects
- Provide on-call support for the applications regarding scheduled and unscheduled outages
- Take the lead in replicate production issues in the system support or test environments to provide detailed information for the project development team to resolve issues
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in the application system.
- Perform regression testing on releases of new software
- Manage the knowledge base repository for applications under your responsibility
- Document system support procedures for the applications
- Perform functional testing of changes to the applications by the development team
- Document all issues in cases and decide if a bug, ad hoc fix or enhancement needs to be raised to the development team and vendors
- Liaise with key business owners on new systems design, current systems issues, as appropriate and where relevant
- Conduct and provide root cause analysis for issues that arise
- Assign cases and tasks to team according to priority
- Participate in stakeholder SLA review meetings
- Provide escalation point for second level support team members and customers and other duties as directed from time to time
The successful Application Support Team Lead must have knowledge in baking payment and reporting application with at least seven years of experience in system support.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology/computer science
- At least seven years of work experience in system support
- Knowledge in web technologies – HTML/ASP/C#/C/PHP/JAVA is an advantage
- Knowledge in banking payment and reporting application is a must
- Must be able to lead and manage a team
- Familiar with programming languages such as C#, Java, etc is an advantage
- Familiar with database programming language such as T-SQL, Oracle, etc., is an advantage
- High critical thinking skills, and business and system analytic skills
