We are partnering with a leading financial institution’s shared services arm to support a large-scale Group Transformation initiative. As part of this, we are seeking a Group Head of IT Audit to lead and strengthen the organization’s technology audit function under the Chief Internal Auditor (CIA).

Group Head of IT Audit

This role will be instrumental in providing independent assurance over IT governance, digital transformation programs, cybersecurity, and emerging technology risks across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Audit Strategy & Leadership

• Define and drive the Group IT Audit strategy, aligned with business transformation priorities and regulatory expectations
• Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing IT audit team across multiple regions/entities
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CIA and senior stakeholders on IT risk matters

2. Audit Delivery & Transformation Oversight

• Oversee end-to-end execution of IT audits, including:
  • Core banking systems
  • Digital platforms and transformation initiatives
  • Cloud and infrastructure environments
• Ensure audits are risk-based, data-driven, and aligned with global best practices

3. Technology Risk & Cybersecurity Assurance

• Provide independent assurance over:
  • Cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
  • Data governance and privacy controls
  • Identity & access management
• Evaluate resilience of systems against evolving cyber threats

4. Stakeholder & Regulatory Engagement

• Engage with senior leadership, including CIO, CTO, and Risk functions
• Act as the key liaison with regulators and external auditors on IT audit matters
• Present audit findings and insights to Audit Committee and Board-level stakeholders

5. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Drive adoption of data analytics, automation, and AI within audit processes
• Embed continuous auditing and monitoring capabilities
• Benchmark against industry trends and emerging risks (e.g., fintech, digital banking)

Requirements

Experience

• 15+ years of experience in IT Audit / Technology Risk / Cybersecurity, preferably within banking or financial services
• Proven track record in a senior leadership role (e.g., Head of IT Audit, IT Risk Director)
• Experience supporting large-scale transformation programs or digital initiatives

Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of:
  • Core banking systems and digital platforms
  • Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure security
  • Cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory requirements
• Familiarity with audit tools, data analytics, and continuous auditing techniques

Leadership & Stakeholder Skills

• Ability to influence at C-suite and Board level
• Strong stakeholder management across regional/global teams
• Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• Professional certifications preferred:
  • CISA, CISSP, CRISC, or equivalent
