An exciting Head of IT Governance, Risk & Compliance job has just become available at a large financial institution based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Your main responsibility is to strategically manage the company’s IT risk position by ensuring compliance issues are resolved and evaluated to fill up particular gaps.

About the Head of IT Governance, Compliance & Risk Role:
You will be providing assistance, guidance and decision making in solving risk, issues and fraud cases whist providing in-depth analysis to propose for strategic risk mitigation actions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all fraud investigation and compliance issues are resolved and addressed within the set SLA and standard
• Provide assistance, guidance and decision making to staffs in solving complex fraud cases and escalation made by customers & the relevant stakeholders i.e. BNM, PDRM, industry task forces, other banks, etc.
• Strategically manage the internet and mobile banking fraud risk and concern by leading, reviewing and evaluating the applicable risk, issues, gaps and concern both externally and internally
• Perform in-depth analysis on modus operandi of the internet and mobile banking fraud and strategically propose risk mitigation actions
• Ensure any new internet and mobile banking services proposed and offered by the bank are properly assessed from the internet and mobile banking fraud perspective. Propose new and strategic solutions and technology recommendations to mitigate all possible risk exposure
• Comply with internal and external bank policies, rules and regulations and audit requirements e.g. BNM, PayNet, Group policies, etc.
• Review and update internal operational procedures and process flow
• Establish SLA for any new/existing process/product related to the department within the bank or with external parties
• Ensure the SLA has adequate controls and clause that benefit the department/the bank as a whole

Key Requirements:

• At least 10 years of work experience covering cybersecurity, IT risk and governance, IT audit or IT compliance
• In-depth knowledge of the relevant BNM guidelines governing the internet and mobile banking business, fraud and operations
• Experienced and knowledgeable on how to identify and analyse sources of internet and mobile fraud, its related risk, uses different approaches and tools to measure and manage the risk both externally and internally
• Foster inter-department collaboration: to interface, work and communicate closely with other supporting department within the bank
• Strong sense of urgency, a meticulous person who is excellent in multitasking and able to perform work under pressure
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick analytical thinking, inquisitive mind to learn, very keen to share knowledge and passionate about process improvement
• High work ethic in demonstrating the core values especially on integrity and teamwork
• Good track service record, good communication and strong interpersonal skills. Comfortable and experienced in dealing with the regulators
• Experience in leading and managing a medium to large team
