A leading organisation in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an End User Computing Engineer to join their Service Operations team, offering a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the ongoing evolution and stability of core IT infrastructure. What you'll do:

As an End User Computing Engineer based in Kuala Lumpur, you will:

  • Support and maintain core IT infrastructure components such as workstations, servers, virtualisation platforms, storage systems, backup solutions, operating systems, and data centre environments to ensure seamless business operations.
  • Monitor the health, performance, and capacity of infrastructure assets proactively to guarantee high availability and reliability for all users.
  • Respond promptly to incidents by conducting thorough root cause analysis and resolving complex infrastructure-related issues efficiently.
  • Manage patching cycles by planning, scheduling, executing regular updates for workstations, servers, operating systems, network devices, security tools, and endpoint environments while minimising business disruption.
  • Provide comprehensive operational support for Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Entra ID; drive adoption of new features aligned with business needs.
  • Support identity management integrations such as directory synchronisation, conditional access policies, Intune device management, ensuring secure access across endpoints.
  • Act as an internal subject matter expert for Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA) operations by assisting with onboarding processes, policy configuration, troubleshooting access issues, and post-deployment stabilisation.
  • Collaborate closely with security teams to uphold compliance standards and address connectivity or application access challenges related to Zscaler or other security solutions.
  • Participate actively in infrastructure projects including migrations and technology refreshes by contributing to planning sessions, implementation activities, testing phases, go-live support efforts.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation such as runbooks and operational handover materials to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

What you bring:

To excel as an End User Computing Engineer in this environment you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience providing robust support for IT infrastructure components including workstations, servers (physical/virtual), storage arrays, backup solutions, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and data centre environments over at least five years.
  • Hands-on proficiency administering Microsoft 365 environments encompassing Exchange Online mailboxes management, Teams collaboration tools setup/support, SharePoint site administration, OneDrive configuration/troubleshooting as well as Entra ID integration.
  • Exposure to implementing or supporting network security access solutions such as Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA), VPNs or firewalls; ability to troubleshoot connectivity/application access issues effectively.
  • Solid understanding of cloud service models (Azure IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) along with practical experience managing Active Directory domains/services (including DFS/DNS).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts including next-generation firewalls (CISCO/Palo Alto preferred), load balancers/switches; able to collaborate with network/security teams on joint initiatives.
  • Proven track record managing patch cycles: planning/scheduling/executing updates across diverse environments; maintaining compliance documentation; coordinating with stakeholders for smooth rollouts.
  • Experience working within operational support frameworks as well as participating in project-based assignments involving migrations/upgrades/technology refreshes/change management processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with strong problem-solving abilities; adept at investigating root causes behind incidents/issues affecting infrastructure performance or security posture.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced setting while remaining adaptable to changing requirements or deadlines; comfortable communicating expectations clearly with customers/internal teams alike.
  • Relevant academic qualifications: Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology/Computer Systems/Computer Studies; professional certifications such as ITIL or technical credentials are advantageous.
