MES Support Specialist
As an MES Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting production services by managing incidents, deploying enhancements, and providing expert guidance to users. This opportunity allows you to work with a global IT center of a multinational specialty manufacturer in Malaysia.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve monitoring critical applications, analysing performance metrics, creating insightful dashboards, and performing regular maintenance tasks. You will also coordinate rollout activities at new factories, gather user feedback for continuous improvement initiatives, manage containerisation deployments, ensure compliance with security standards, conduct thorough testing procedures, document systems meticulously, and deliver standard user training. Success in this role requires a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a passion for supporting smart factory operations through reliable OT solutions.
- Manage incidents and changes using ITIL processes through ServiceNow, ensuring smooth service delivery for key users and application users.
- Provide dependable 2nd-level support for MES applications, addressing user queries and resolving technical issues promptly.
- Deploy bug fixes, configuration changes, and minor enhancements to maintain optimal performance of MES Systems across multiple sites.
- Support rollout activities at new factories by coordinating with stakeholders and facilitating seamless integration of MES solutions.
- Gather requirements and user feedback for the consulting team, enabling continuous improvement of operational technology services.
- Monitor applications and infrastructure using specialised tools, analysing performance data to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
- Create comprehensive dashboards and KPI reports that provide actionable insights into system performance and operational efficiency.
- Perform regular maintenance for MES systems, including master data updates based on service requests to ensure data integrity.

- Proficiency with MES systems enables you to support complex manufacturing execution processes.
- Expertise in monitoring and logging tools allows you to analyse system performance efficiently.
- Linux administration skills are crucial for managing application environments securely.
- Scripting abilities using Bash, Python or Perl facilitate automation of routine tasks for improved efficiency.
- Understanding networking fundamentals and integration knowledge supports seamless connectivity.
- Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) as well as CI/CD pipelines ensures robust deployment practices.
