IT Support Engineer (Microsoft Products)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Support Engineer to join a highly respected Managed Security Services (MSS) team. This role is ideal for an early-career security or infrastructure professional who is passionate about Microsoft products.

You will be part of a knowledgeable team responsible for maintaining the performance and security of client environments across regions. This role requires fluency with Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory (AD), Entra ID (Azure AD), and Microsoft Azure. Shift work is required to support daily operations across ANZ time zones.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining secure client infrastructure by responding to incidents, managing service requests, and performing proactive system maintenance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform initial analysis and troubleshooting of event data collected from servers, networks, cloud platforms, and security devices; escalate issues as required.

• Respond to incidents and service requests related to infrastructure technologies, including on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.

• Provide operational support for Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Azure infrastructure.

• Conduct proactive maintenance activities, including system patching, updates, and health checks across infrastructure components.

• Carry out configuration, administration, and monitoring tasks to ensure systems operate securely and efficiently.

• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, providing timely updates on incidents, service requests, and changes.

• Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.

• Ensure all activities comply with security policies, operational standards, and ethical requirements, including client confidentiality.

Required Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong foundation in IT operations or engineering, combined with a customer-focused mindset and a willingness to learn.

Essential / Highly Desirable:

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, particularly:

  • Active Directory (AD)

  • Entra ID (Azure AD)

  • Microsoft Azure

• At least 1 year of experience in IT engineering, IT operations, security operations, or a related technical role.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret event data across multiple platforms.

• Familiarity with infrastructure technologies such as servers, networks, and cloud environments.

• Willingness to work shift hours to support Australia and New Zealand operations.

• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment.
