MySQL DBA

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled DBA to join a FinTech company based in Kuala Lumpur. As a Database Administrator (DBA), you will manage user administration, optimize performance, troubleshooting production issues, ensure database security, and collaborate with third-party providers.

What you'll do:

• Manage and document user administration and governance for database access
• Address database performance issues, including long-running and blocking queries
• Handle database-related activities such as replication, archiving, backup/restore, encryption, and audit logs
• Collaborate with third-party service providers to enhance database performance and stability
• Work closely with the development team to troubleshoot production issues and provide guidance
• Ensure database security and compliance with security processes and guidelines
• Ensure all database changes are well-documented, tested, reviewed, and approved before production deployment
• Provide guidelines and examples for handling production issues, such as log checking and query optimization
• Offer technical recommendations for improving existing queries

What you bring:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a DBA, preferably with MySQL. Open to MSSQL & Oracle
• Proficiency in database monitoring and performance optimization
• Ability to read and improve SQL execution plans
• Familiarity with Linux operating system
• Proficiency in shell scripting
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and/or technical support
