About the MySQL DBA Role:
In this role, you are responsible for MySQL database designing, monitoring performance, resolve issues, and optimise configurations for efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement databases aligned with organisational requirements. Collaborate with software developers and system architects for efficient, scalable, and optimised designs
• Manage database elements such as schemas, tables, indexes, and views. Monitor database performance, resolve issues, and optimise configurations for efficiency
• Conduct regular backups, ensuring data integrity and availability. Implement security policies and procedures for safeguarding sensitive data
• Install and configure database management systems, applying software updates. Oversee ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading
• Optimise data storage and access, planning and executing migration and consolidation projects
• Identify and resolve database-related problems promptly. Collaborate with developers and administrators to troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and data integrity issues
• Provide technical support to end-users for database-related inquiries. Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and processes
• Generate and analyse performance reports, offering improvement recommendations

To succeed in this MSSQL DBA job, you must have five or more years of knowledge in database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and associated tools. Familiar with database design principles, data normalisation, and indexing techniques.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; additional certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator are advantageous
• Five or more years of knowledge in database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and associated tools. Familiar with database design principles, data normalisation, and indexing techniques
• Proficiency in writing and optimising SQL queries and stored procedures. Knowledgeable about database security best practices
• Hands-on experience with database performance tuning, optimisation, and data backup/recovery strategies
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with cross-functional teams (English and Mandarin)
