An exciting Senior IT Database Adminstrator job in a multinational world leading manufacturing and production company to be based in Penang has just become available. Senior IT Database Adminstrator is responsible for supporting manufacturing related applications and leading the manufacturing and production of an established manufacturing plant focusing on this is a role for a Senior IT Database Adminstrator who is a leader in their field.

About the Senior IT Database Adminstrator Role:
Reporting to the IT Manager, this company is looking for a competent person with line, you will be responsible to provide solutions to technical issues and be responsible for meeting project schedules and ensuring the delivered solution meets the technical specifications and design requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain the performance of database servers
• Develop processes for optimizing database security
• Performance tuning of database systems
• Design and implement database in accordance to requirements
• Create and manage database reports, visualization, and dashboards
• Provide proactive and reactive data management support
• Recommend and implement emerging database technologies
• Perform file archival and purging as necessary.
• Manage and administer database backups and ensure database recoverability
• Manage and maintain monitoring system for IT database systems
• Develop and provide related documentations
• Manage, coordinate, and implement database upgrades, patches, hot fixes
• Provide technical assistance and support to end-users and On Site support team
• Good experience on on-call and onsite troubleshooting
• Troubleshoot any issues arises

To succeed in Senior IT Database Adminstrator this role, the candidate must possess in- depth experience in Oracle and SQL.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• At least 3 to 5 years in depth experience on Oracle and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications.
• Knowledge in Oracle RMAN backup.
• Experience with various Linux operation systems.
• Additional relevant certifications are an added advantage.
• Understand cross-cultural working environments.
• Good analytical thinker with attention to details.
• Strong problem solving and triaging skills.
• Good understanding of support process and change management.
• Able to perform work independently with minimum supervision.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
