An exciting Senior DBA job has just become available with one of the banking companies based in Kuala Lumpur.
About the Senior DBA Role:
In this job you are responsible for implementing, configuring, maintaining, and conducting performance tuning of Oracle/MongoDB/MSSQL Server. You will provide ongoing support and administration of the organisation’s database.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade databases. Establish standards and best practices for server performance
- Monitor systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints. Improve performance and efficiency of data storage for the organisation
- Administer existing enterprise databases by analysing, designing, and creating new databases
- Conduct database backup and recovery strategies
- Handle database security, roles, and privileges
To succeed in this Senior DBA role, you must have a minimum of seven years’ DBA experience and be proficient in Oracle/MongoDB/MSSQL database management.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Proficiency in Oracle/MariaDB/MSSQL database management. Experience setting up Master-Slave replication, Multi-Master replication, High Availability and disaster recovery in a production environment
- Experience on Maxscale HA proxy implementation. Hands On Experience with MariaDB/MSSQL database and query performance tuning
- Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL database such as MongDB server is an advantage
- Good knowledge of Unix command
- Good analytical, troubleshooting and problem identification skills
