Network Engineer

An exciting Network Engineer job has just become available with one of the top banking companies based in Kuala Lumpur.

About the Network Engineer Role:
In this role, you are responsible for planning, designing, analysing, maintaining and provide technical support for the data communications network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse and troubleshoot network issues via phone, remotely or onsite. Provide IT helpdesk, infrastructure, and support to users
• Install, configure, and reconfigure network appliances. Assist in ICT network and infrastructure projects. Evaluate and provide recommendation of infrastructure requirements
• Participate in system preparation, implementation and UAT. Responsible for hardware and software inventory management and monitoring
• Take necessary actions on the alerts generated by all monitoring systems. Carry out and maintain backup for all network appliances configurations
• Adhere to and enforce IT policy and procedures

To succeed in this Network Engineer job, you must have a minimum of five years of work experience in Network Engineering.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. IT related professional certifications
• Minimum of five years in Network Engineering. Technical expertise in LAN/WAN administration, operating system, database, data centre, physical and virtual environment
• Strong knowledge and hands-on-skills in firewalls, proxy servers, remotes access, switches
• Strong technical knowledge of best practice processes and technologies across the security domain
• Strong research skills – ability to gather information about unfamiliar subjects from multiple sources with minimal assistance
