Database Administrator (SQL)

About the Database Administrator (SQL) Role:
You will be taking responsibility for optimising and troubleshooting database systems operations and relevant applications, designing and enhancing database structures for developers to utilise the database efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining highly efficient SQL databases and related applications to ensure seamless performance
• Developing and optimising complex SQL queries and stored procedures, troubleshooting and resolving complex database-related issues in a timely and effective manner
• Proactive database performance monitoring and system performance enhancement to reduce downtime and guarantee high availability
• Creating and implementing thorough backup and disaster recovery procedures to protect vital data
• Collaborating closely with developers to design efficient and effective database structures to support application requirements

To succeed in this Database Administrator (SQL) role, you will need to be a team player who can support developers with strong knowledge of database design, optimisation principles, administration skills and likes staying up to date with the latest trends.

Key Requirements:

• Diploma in information technology or any relevant/equivalent qualifications
• Minimum of four years of experience in SQL database administration and development.
• Experience in financial services or relevant industry is a strong advantage
• Proficiency in designing and optimising databases in collaboration with developers using industry relevant techniques and principles
• Knowledge and experience in database security and user management
• Administration knowledge of database tools and utilities, especially in disaster recovery
• Team player, problem solver, with a strong passion for and interest in FinTech
