Senior IT Manager

An exciting Senior IT Manager job has become available at a leading global manufacturing company based in Penang. Reporting directly to the Global Director of IT, this is a role for a subject-matter expert in driving the management of architecture, engineering and IT operations.

About the Senior IT Manager Role:
As the Senior IT Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and executing IT operations and services, IT governance, enterprise architecture in both manufacturing applications as well as IT infrastructure. You will be providing leadership and manage a team of technical team in delivering daily IT operations, governance, and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage information technology department consisting of IT operations, applications, infrastructure as well as technical support
• Establish a technology roadmap and vision for technology infrastructure
• Move distributed hosting networks to cloud-based hosting frameworks
• Continually improve the talent level and competencies of the IT department
• Plan, organise, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
• Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
• Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
• Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organisational policies
• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
• Audit systems and assess their outcomes
• Preserve assets, information security and control structures
• Create and review all policies and procedures for the IT group as well as any other company policies and procedures that pertain to it
• Manage the IT operational and CAPEX budgets
• Initiate, handle and make necessary changes to the system settings based on business workflow requirement needs
• Maintain good working relationships with internal customers such as financial controllers, business managers and IT support staff in the region
• Initiate improvement ideas and best practices that are relevant and important for future adaptation

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong manufacturing and production IT operations background with both application and infrastructure knowledge.

Key Requirements:

• Must possess at least a bachelor's degree, professional degree, computer science/information technology or equivalent
• Minimum of 15 years of work experience in information technology in full spectrum IT operations
• Minimum of 10 years of work experience in managerial position
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Financial acumen in terms of budgeting and expense management
• Proven ability to recruit, retain, and motivate highly skilled technical teams
