An exciting Database Administrator (MSSQL) job has just become available at one of the IT companies based in West Malaysia.
About the Database Administrator (MSSQL) Role:
In this role, you are responsible for supporting MSSQL DB. Creating, and maintaining tools to manage the server infrastructure, and resolving complex performance issues by using root-cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct DB release management, uptime monitoring, DB optimisation. DB patching and updates, security monitoring and User Access Management
- Provide troubleshooting and incident resolution support
- Complete backup, recovery, disaster recovery and archival tasks - set up SQL server AlwaysON solution and AlwaysON Readonly routing
- Administer the partitioned tables in SQL server. Provide standby support when required
- Provide consultation on User Requirement Study, DB design, configuration and implementation, Database Systems and Data Migration Projects, DB Integration (e.g SSIS) and DB Reporting (e.g. SSRS), SQL scripting (e.g. Stored Procedures). ETL (Extract, Transform, Load). Test Data Preparation and Management
To succeed in this Database Administrator (MSSQL) role, you must have experience in setting up and managing Master-Slave replication, multi-Master replication, High Availability, and disaster recovery in a production environment.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
- Between three to seven years of DB administration experience. Hands-on experience with MSSQL (on-premise and Azure Cloud)
- Knowledge in SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, T-SQL, Data Warehousing
- Experience in SQL Scripting (e.g. joins, sub queries, indexes, views, stored procedures, etc.)
- DB design, configuration & implementation, DB release management, DB uptime monitoring, DB optimisation, DB patches and updates, B security and managing user access and permissions
- Troubleshooting and incident resolution, backup, recovery, and archival, disaster recovery, database systems and data migration projects (extract, transform, load) and data cleansing
