Database Administrator (Oracle/Mongo Server)

An exciting in-house Database Administrator (Oracle/Mongo Server) job opportunity has just become available at one of the top financial services companies based in Kuala Lumpur.

About the Database Administrator (Oracle/Mongo Server) Role:
Reporting directly to the Head of IT, you will be responsible for providing in-house technical support for DB installation, configuration, administration, and monitoring of Oracle/Mongo Servers. You must be able to work on a rotational shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure Oracle/Mongo Server databases performance, availability and security are in order, to provide a stable database environment
• Conduct installation, configuration, administration, and monitoring of Oracle 12c/19c databases
• Perform tuning and optimisation techniques (patching, security patches and hotfixes)
• Conduct database backup and recovery methodologies. Shell scripting to automate repetitive tasks
• Diagnose technical issues and taking corrective actions to ensure database availability
• Database capacity planning, upgrades, and database migration
• Proficiency in database security and audit requirements troubleshoot DB-related alerts

To succeed in this Database Administrator (Oracle/Mongo Server) job, you must have between four to six years of experience in managing 24/7 production server, huge databases, and multiple incidents.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology
• Minimum of four years’ hands-on experience as DBA in production environments
• Must be able to work on a rotational shift
• Understanding of enterprise application technology architecture, components, databases, networking, and infrastructure as code
