IT Infrastructure Engineer

A renowned company in the manufacturing and production industry in Penang is recruiting for an IT Infrastructure Engineer job to join who as part of the manufacturing digitalisation and IT team, you are part of the digital transformation and drive innovative solutions.

About the IT Infrastructure Engineer Role:
In this key position, the IT Infrastructure Engineer will be the plant representative in the Network IT Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage IT Infrastructure projects of the plants, within manufacturing IT scope. This includes new system/solution setup, roll-out, update/upgrade/refresh of existing system
• Developing and maintaining software tool/application for improving manufacturing IT landscape visibility, monitoring, and security, in term of resources performance and IT asset management
• React to IT incident on IT Infrastructure in manufacturing, and lead on investigation, measures and prevention. This may include but not limited to cybersecurity attacks such as malware, network or server performance issues
• Work with plant IT in Manufacturing representative (Local-ITM) in term of IT in Manufacturing activities. This include but not limited to risk assessment, self-check, concept or process definition and implementation, asset management, client It security, network IT security, and tool/application development
• Develop, publish, maintain, and explain data dashboard to visualise and improve data presentation and improve manufacturing KPI
• Prepare and analyse production data to support manufacturing in problem solving projects
• Any other duties assigned by immediate superior

To succeed in this IT Infrastructure Engineer role, candidate is required to possess experience in IT Infrastructure, networking and system troubleshooting, network security, etc.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT System, IT Infrastructure, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Preferably three to five years of experience in IT Infrastructure, working experience to MNC or international level
• Expert in IT Infrastructure (server mgmt, networks, databases, cyber physic. syst)
• Proficiency in IT Infrastructure architecture, installation, and technical setup, maintenance, and related IT systems integration
• Experience in programming languages (e.g. oracle, sql, C, VB, .NET) and data analytics tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau) as added advantage
• Good team player, cooperative, communicative, result and quality oriented
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
• Fluency in English (written and oral)
• Strong dedication, interest, and motivation to proactively drive new and improvement topics
• Ability to prioritise, plan and organise work independently
