Application Engineer (Marketing Platform)

A leading worldwide company is seeking a Application Engineer (Marketing Platform) to be based in Petaling Jaya. In this job, you will work on several new IT programmes and products being deployed across Asia as part of the technology roadmap.

About the Application Engineer (Marketing Platform) Role:
You will be responsible for system configuration across our platforms, including the development and documentation of technical configuration requirements based on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work as part of an Agile team, partnering with developers, product owners, and Scrum Masters to deliver against goals and objectives
• Understand business requirements and accordingly develop configuration specifications
• Participate in release, sprint, and daily planning activities
• Provide technical support for system design, testing and implementation activities
• Analyse and resolve system defects and problems
• Recommend system enhancements and upgrades for performance efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate configuration changes related to upgrades and fixes
• Review and recommend changes to configuration management processes
• Develop process improvements to automate and streamline build processes

To succeed in this Application Engineer (Marketing Platform) role, you must possess three to five years of hands-on configuration experience, preferably in marketing platforms (Magento, Eventtia, Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC)) and strong communication skills to work with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in software engineering, computer science or a related discipline is essential
• Three to five years of hands-on configuration experience, preferably in marketing platforms (Magento, Eventtia, Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC))
• Familiar with PHP, JSON, Jscript, CSS and any web-based language is preferred
• Ability to understand data loading, custom fields, objects, security configuration, workflow process and overall system configuration
• Understanding of programming concepts, modelling languages
• Knowledge of documentation, coding, testing and deployment across several development languages and platforms
