Save job

A leading financial institution in Malaysia is seeking an Enterprise Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s long-term technology and architectural vision. This is a rare opportunity for you to influence enterprise-wide transformation, aligning business strategy with scalable and future-ready technology capabilities that will underpin the bank’s next phase of growth.

What you'll do:

As an Enterprise Architect – Banking Technology and Transformation, your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around shaping the bank’s long-term technology vision while ensuring every initiative aligns with strategic objectives. You will work closely with executive stakeholders to define blueprints for future-state architecture and develop detailed roadmaps that guide transformation efforts across multiple domains. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving modernisation projects—ranging from core banking upgrades to digital channel enhancements—while maintaining rigorous standards for security and regulatory compliance. By establishing governance frameworks and reviewing solution designs, you will ensure all technology investments support both current operations and future ambitions. Your ability to mentor teams and foster cross-functional collaboration will be key to embedding best practices throughout the organisation. Ultimately, your contributions will help create a resilient, innovative technology foundation that enables sustainable growth for years to come.

  • Define and maintain an enterprise architecture blueprint that is fully aligned with the organisation’s overarching corporate strategy, ensuring it remains relevant as business needs evolve.
  • Develop comprehensive target-state architectures and multi-year transformation roadmaps that guide the bank towards its future-state vision while balancing immediate priorities.
  • Ensure seamless alignment between business capabilities, applications, data assets, and infrastructure domains to create a cohesive technology ecosystem.
  • Lead architectural decision-making at the enterprise level by setting clear principles for scalability, resilience, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology direction and investment priorities, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business outcomes.
  • Drive modernisation initiatives across core banking platforms, digital channels, payments systems, risk management solutions, and integration layers.
  • Identify emerging technologies relevant to the banking sector and assess their potential impact on the organisation’s future landscape.
  • Establish robust architecture governance frameworks by developing standards and principles that ensure consistency across all projects and programmes.
  • Review and approve solution architectures to guarantee alignment with enterprise strategy while mitigating risks associated with non-compliance or technical debt.
  • Provide architectural leadership and mentorship across technology teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and shared accountability.

What you bring:

To excel as an Enterprise Architect – Banking Technology and Transformation, you will bring extensive experience gained from working within financial services or other highly regulated industries where large-scale transformation is commonplace. Your background should include hands-on involvement in designing enterprise architectures that span multiple domains—such as core banking systems or digital platforms—and delivering successful modernisation programmes underpinned by robust governance structures. You are adept at engaging senior leaders through thoughtful communication while also mentoring technical teams towards best practice adoption. Your familiarity with industry-standard frameworks ensures consistency in approach while your openness to new technologies keeps the organisation ahead of market trends. Above all else, your collaborative mindset allows you to build trust-based relationships across departments so that everyone works together towards common objectives.

  • Over twelve years of experience in technology architecture within financial services or similarly complex large-scale enterprises where you have demonstrated your ability to deliver impactful results.
  • Proven track record in enterprise architecture design, transformation programme delivery, and large platform modernisation initiatives within regulated environments.
  • Deep understanding of banking domains such as core banking systems, payments infrastructure, digital channels, risk management frameworks, data integration strategies, and related technologies.
  • Experience defining target operating models as well as developing enterprise-wide roadmaps that balance short-term needs with long-term strategic objectives.
  • Familiarity with established architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or equivalent methodologies that provide structure for governance processes.
  • Exceptional executive presence combined with strong interpersonal skills that enable you to engage credibly with senior stakeholders across business units.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively—even without direct authority—by building consensus around shared goals.
  • Expertise in establishing architecture governance frameworks including standards development, solution review processes, and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Ability to identify emerging technologies relevant to financial services and assess their applicability within a regulated context focused on operational resilience.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling you to translate complex technical strategies into clear business outcomes for diverse audiences.
