Payments Software Engineering Lead

Our client is seeking a Payments Software Engineering Lead to join their dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur. This role is perfect for an individual with a strong background in API development, microservices architecture and ISO message integration, coupled with deep expertise in retail banking. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving solution architecture, design, and delivery while ensuring compliance with security and governance standards.

What you'll do:

As a Payments Software Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of retail banking. Your primary responsibility will be to design robust API-driven microservices solutions for retail payments that are scalable, secure, and compliant. You will work closely with various stakeholders to translate business requirements into technology solutions that are both scalable and maintainable. Your expertise will also be crucial in ensuring seamless integration of payment systems with other banking platforms and third-party services. In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be expected to stay abreast of emerging technologies in the payment space.

• Design robust API-driven microservices solutions for retail payments, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance.
• Define end-to-end solution architecture for payment applications, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technology solutions.
• Ensure seamless integration of payment systems with other banking platforms and third-party services.
• Conduct performance optimization and implement best practices to enhance reliability and scalability.
• Identify and implement security controls by collaborating with Security teams.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance, risk mitigation and governance policies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful implementation and deployment of payment solutions.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies in payment space.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Payments Software Engineering Lead role will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in ATM/POS switching, Debit Card Issuance/Management, Digital Channels interface, Encryption, HSM and ISO8583 messaging standards. You will have hands-on experience with EMV Contact/Contactless, VISA and MasterCard Card Issuing & Acquiring, Scheme compliance requirements. Your experience with an EFT transaction switching and processing will be invaluable in this role. Additionally, your knowledge of PCI DSS and PA DSS compliance requirements will be crucial to ensuring the security of our payment systems. Your ability to integrate Web Service and APIs, coupled with your understanding of end-to-end systems development life cycles (i.e., waterfall, Agile and other modern approaches to software development), will set you apart from other candidates.

• Strong knowledge of ATM/POS switching, Debit Card Issuance/Management, Digital Channels interface, Encryption, HSM and ISO8583 messaging standards
• Experience with EMV Contact/Contactless, VISA and MasterCard Card Issuing & Acquiring, Scheme compliance requirements
• Experience with an EFT transaction switching and processing.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS and PA DSS compliance requirements
• Experience on Switch integration with VISA/Mastercard is mandatory. Others such as UPI, JCB and National switches.
• Experience in Web Service integration and API’s
• Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (i.e., waterfall, Agile and other modern approaches to software development)
• Excellent problem-solving, team, and time management skills.
• Experience in Programming Languages and other emerging technologies
• Experience in Cloud Services
