An established private university in Penang is recruiting for a Head of IT job to lead the business. In this Head of IT job, you will be responsible for leading the education and training business in its next phase of growth, focusing of business modernisation.

About the Head of IT Role:
In this business critical role, you will hold the strategic and management responsibility to manage the organisation’s information technology resources and supervise the staff responsible for operating and supporting the IT systems. You will work with the departments to align their IT systems to their requirements and manages the systems to ensure they are constantly available to users.

• Ensuring academic quality and regulatory compliance and providing academic leadership
• Establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders

To succeed in this Head of IT job, you will need to make good communication with the department members, the stakeholders and the regulatory bodies. Exposure in cloud computing experience is an added advantage.

Key Requirements:

• Master's or bachelor’s degree in IT related field and have at least 10 years of IT management experience in a leadership role in higher education
• Applicants with professional certificates and exposure in the Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Information System (SIS) have an advantage
• Ability to prepare budget proposals related to the department to support the business plan and to ensure cost effectiveness on the resources needs related to IT and its office peripherals
• Experience in IT related project management methodologies by coordinating resources and schedules within the tight deadlines given
• Updated with the emerging technologies and passion to translate the institution core values and services into the digital world
• Demonstrates excellent knowledge of cloud computing and able to lead projects relating to cloud technologies and services
• Experienced in managing Disaster Recovery operations within the business and able to work with other departments to mitigate the effect of technology risk to enhance business contingency plans
• Ability to supervise and coordinate the resources within the infrastructure and application team and overseeing the full spectrum of IT
• Experience with online and distance learning, with a high level of verbal and written competence in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
