Microsoft Security Engineer (Purview & Defender)

An exciting opportunity for a skilled Security Engineer to join a collaborative team focused on safeguarding enterprise systems. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will play a key role in managing IT security systems, with an emphasis on identity management, advanced Microsoft security technologies, and phishing prevention mechanisms. This position is ideal for professionals eager to deepen their expertise in security infrastructures and operational excellence.

What you'll do:

• Investigate and resolve complex incidents related to infrastructure technologies (network, systems, cloud).
• Administer and optimize Active Directory components (user management, PKI, DNS) and Microsoft cloud identity/security tools (Entra ID, MFA, SSO).
• Implement and manage Microsoft Purview solutions for data governance and compliance (DLP policies, insider risk management).
• Enhance security operations using Microsoft Defender Suite for endpoint protection, email security, and application governance.
• Configure and maintain email security solutions (EOP, DKIM, DMARC, SPF).
• Lead reviews of controls, policies, and procedures to ensure operational standards are met.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve escalated issues professionally and efficiently.

What you bring:

• 3–5 years of experience in IT engineering or operations with a focus on security systems.
• Solid experience with Microsoft security technologies like Defender XDR and Purview suite.
• Expertise in administering enterprise IT systems such as Windows Servers and Active Directory.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies integrated with traditional network infrastructures.
• Strong analytical skills to address emergent operational challenges effectively.
• Desirable certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or ITIL Foundation V4.
