What you'll do:

As a Cloud and Security Architect based in Kuala Lumpur’s vibrant technology hub, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the future of secure digital transformation. Your day-to-day activities will involve partnering with cross-functional teams to architect robust cloud-native solutions that meet stringent regulatory requirements while supporting business agility. You will be responsible for developing reference architectures that set the standard for secure solution design across all layers of technology stacks. By embedding advanced authentication models and data protection measures into every project you touch—especially those involving cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI—you will help safeguard sensitive information against emerging threats. Your expertise will also be called upon to automate critical security controls within CI/CD pipelines while staying ahead of industry trends through ongoing threat monitoring. • Lead the design of secure cloud solutions across application, integration, data, and infrastructure layers with a primary focus on Azure-centric architectures.
• Shape and evolve reference architectures and secure design patterns that align with enterprise-wide standards while producing comprehensive architectural deliverables with clear security considerations.
• Design and review authentication and authorisation models for cloud applications to ensure robust access control mechanisms, token handling processes, session management protocols, cryptography implementations, and data protection strategies are in place.
• Assess the security implications of new or modified applications, tools, and platforms by evaluating their impact on existing architectures and embedding secure-by-design principles across APIs, integrations, and middleware components.
• Provide expert input on security architecture for solutions leveraging Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and machine-learning technologies by identifying risks such as prompt injection or model abuse.
• Establish guardrails for LLM usage including validation procedures, access restrictions, monitoring frameworks, data boundaries enforcement, and human oversight controls to support responsible GenAI adoption.
• Implement and continuously enhance cloud security architecture controls while driving automation of security checks across delivery pipelines and operational processes.
• Monitor evolving threats, vulnerabilities, industry practices, and regulatory changes to proactively improve the organisation’s overall security posture.
• Perform threat modelling exercises, risk assessments, and security impact analyses for both new initiatives and existing solutions while contributing to Architecture Review Board discussions for architectural assurance.
• Work collaboratively with enterprise architects, developers, DevOps teams, vendors, and business stakeholders throughout delivery lifecycles to resolve complex security design challenges.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Software/Computer Engineering, Enterprise/Solution Architecture or related discipline is required for this position.
• At least 8 years’ experience in solution or security architecture roles is essential; candidates with 10–15 years’ experience are highly regarded for senior profiles.
• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in cloud and application security architecture (IaaS / PaaS / SaaS) is necessary to excel in this role.
• Proven track record delivering secure digital solutions within financial services or insurance environments is preferred but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated exposure to API-based architectures, microservices frameworks, event-driven integration patterns, and DevSecOps practices is highly valued.
• Comprehensive understanding of major security frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST or COBIT; familiarity with PDPA/GDPR/PCI DSS regulations is advantageous.
• Deep knowledge of identity management systems (IAM), data protection techniques including cryptographic controls as well as Azure cloud platform expertise are crucial skills for success here.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines implementation along with infrastructure-as-code concepts plus operationalising security guardrails within these environments is expected.
• Awareness or practical experience securing GenAI/LLM-enabled applications—including prompt safety measures & data governance—is required; familiarity with OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications/Machine Learning Security Risks is beneficial.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP/CCSP/CISM/SABSA/Azure Solutions Architect/Azure DevOps are preferred; additional credentials like TOGAF or IASA are nice-to-have; GenAI/AI-security related training or experience is a must.
