What you'll do:

As an Identity Management Support Engineer based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the reliability and security of key banking applications. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve hands-on technical support for identity management platforms such as Oracle Identity Governance 12c. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents swiftly, deploy updates seamlessly, and ensure robust system health through proactive monitoring. By developing operational documentation and automating routine tasks with scripting skills, you will contribute significantly to process improvement efforts. Your ability to communicate effectively with both internal colleagues and external vendors will be crucial in driving successful outcomes during audits or major incident recoveries. This role requires a dependable approach to managing priorities in an operational environment where teamwork is essential for success.

  • Engage in daily support activities including incident and problem management for identity management applications, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Perform production deployments and patch activities on supported applications and servers, maintaining system integrity and reliability.
  • Collaborate with product support and development teams to review changes, enhancements, bug fixes, and drive permanent resolutions for recurring issues.
  • Transfer application knowledge to level 1 support teams by establishing standard recovery processes, system health check monitoring routines, scheduled activities, and addressing common user queries.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders such as application owners, business units, infrastructure specialists, security experts, and operations teams to continuously improve application stability.
  • Develop comprehensive operational documents summarising common support issues to facilitate efficient troubleshooting and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Create detailed reports and manage audit requests for information (RFIs) while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Design Linux scripts tailored to specific operational needs for automation and improved efficiency in support tasks.
  • Provide after-hours standby support for emergency recoveries, including managing major incidents affecting critical services with sensitivity and urgency.
  • Correlate events across multiple systems to proactively identify deep-rooted issues and implement effective solutions that enhance overall system performance.

What you bring:

To excel as an Identity Management Support Engineer in this organisation, your proven track record should include extensive experience supporting large-scale identity management solutions within financial services or similarly regulated industries. Your technical expertise spans multiple platforms—Oracle Identity Governance 12c being central—alongside strong scripting abilities that drive automation initiatives. You bring a process-aware mindset that prioritises effective time management while balancing competing deliverables in an interrupt-driven environment. Your interpersonal skills foster positive relationships within multidisciplinary teams; you are known for your empathy when collaborating on challenging problems. A willingness to perform on-call duties demonstrates your commitment to service continuity. Above all else, your dedication to continuous learning ensures you remain up-to-date with emerging trends in identity management technologies.

  • Diploma or degree in engineering, computer science, IT or cyber security from a recognised educational institution provides a solid foundation for this role.
  • Professional qualifications in information security such as CISSP, CISM or CEH are advantageous for demonstrating your commitment to best practices.
  • Nine to twelve years of relevant experience in identity management support equips you with the depth of knowledge required for complex environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle Identity Governance 12c, Oracle Database, WebLogic, BI Publisher, Oracle Connectors as well as Linux, Unix & Windows Enterprise Server OS enables you to handle administration, performance tuning and troubleshooting tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java and JavaScript allows you to develop scripts that automate operational processes efficiently.
  • Understanding of network infrastructure components like load balancers, firewalls and SSL ensures secure connectivity across systems.
  • Experience with directory services such as LDAP and Active Directory databases supports seamless integration within enterprise environments.
  • Advanced skills in Oracle SQL including writing complex queries along with hands-on experience using reporting tools demonstrate your analytical capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles including ISO 27001 & NIST Cybersecurity Framework helps maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills enable you to share knowledge clearly across diverse teams while maintaining process awareness.
