An exciting Cybersecurity Operations Specialist job has just become available at one of the up-and-coming shared services clients based in Petaling Jaya.

About the Cybersecurity Operations Specialist Role:
In this role, you are responsible for incident detection and response for the organisation. You will be monitoring, responding to, and mitigating cyber threats. Working under the global SOC manager, you will be part of the APAC analyst group. Your responsibility is crucial in promptly detecting and addressing any irregularities to ensure a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyse security alerts and logs for swift identification and response to potential security incidents. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and manage security breaches, containing and mitigating threats
• Apply incident response methodologies to minimise impact and conduct post-incident analysis
• Analyse network traffic, logs, and data sources to detect and investigate threats. Work with internal teams to assess incidents and recommend remediation actions
• Utilise advanced threat detection tools and techniques for proactive risk identification (Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Defender and Crowdstrike)
• Use expertise in VAPT to detect potential exploits. Contribute to the operation and improvement of SIEM systems. Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for incident response and critical processes
• Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and tactics through research and engagement with cybersecurity communities
• Integrate threat intelligence into daily analysis and response activities for proactive threat detection.
• Create comprehensive incident reports, analysis summaries, and documentation. Maintain detailed records of incidents, investigations, and mitigation efforts

To succeed in this Cybersecurity Operations Specialist job, you must have five years’ experience in SOC/IR/TA/SIEM/SOAR/EDR for enterprise organisations.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, computer engineering, electronics, or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution
• Five or more years of experience in SOC/IR/TA/SIEM/SOAR/EDR for enterprise organisations. Hands-on experience in Azure and O365 security
• Exceptional communication, research, problem-solving, and time management skills
• Skilled in advanced threat detection tools and techniques for proactive risk identification (Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Defender and Crowdstrike)
