An exciting Cybersecurity Manager job has just been made available at one of the long-term FMCG companies based in Kuala Lumpur.
About the Cybersecurity Manager Role: Reporting directly to the IT Director, you are responsible for implementing cybersecurity programmes, capabilities and change management for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as primary cyber liaison, cultivating relationships with regional business and IT sectors
Implement cybersecurity policies for the organisation, incorporating regional cyber priorities (e.g., thwarting phishing, safeguarding crucial data/systems)
Notify senior executives on security standards/best practices and lead regional security initiatives
Apply NIST framework to identify gaps, define regional KPIs for tracking changes aligned with global metrics. Implement and assess cyber policies in regions, analysing exceptions' risks and embedding policy requirements operationally
Conduct local cybersecurity risk assessments for critical projects, delivering recommendations
Execute regional training and awareness campaigns
Support compliance assessments (DANGO), collaborate with local compliance for personal data security measures.Collaborate with CISO team for crisis management escalations
Oversee incident response in the region, addressing incidents affecting critical assets like IP, regulated data, and reputation
Monitor, address critical vulnerabilities, and manage penetration test outcomes and local incident backlog
To succeed in this Cybersecurity Manager role, you must have at least seven years of experience in cybersecurity, IT-related solutioning, governance, and programme management.
Key Requirements:
Degree, master's, or professional qualification in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field. Between 7 - 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT-related solutioning, governance, and program management, with a specific focus of three to five years in cyber roles
Proficient in applying risk and control frameworks, possessing incident response expertise
Demonstrated aptitude in cyber and IT management encompassing infrastructure and applications
Holds recognised information technology/security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) as advantageous
Expert in building and nurturing effective relationships, overseeing both direct and indirect teams, and engaging with senior business stakeholders
Thrives in a complex global environment, displaying proactive teamwork and autonomous work capabilities
Communicates effectively across cultures, primarily using English as the main language of communication
