An exciting L1/L2 SOC Analyst job has just become available at one of the long-term banking clients based in Shah Alam.

About the L1/L2 SOC Analyst Role:
Reporting directly to the Team Lead, you are responsible for identifying potential information security risks and proposing suitable solutions. You will be working on a 12-hour shift rotation (two days working, two days off, on rotation).

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct analysis and trending of security log data from diverse security devices and servers, such as Akamai, IPS, Web Proxy, Firewall, and Server OS logs
• Identify potential information security risks and propose suitable solutions. Ensure security event analysis adheres to specified SLA and KPI guidelines
• Suggest risk mitigation strategies for activities that may impact the security of the existing IT infrastructure.
• Assist in basic to medium-level computer forensic investigations. Collaborate with the Lead/Manager to enhance SOC's effectiveness and efficiency by developing improved processes.
• Investigate security incidents and ensure timely mitigation and remediation actions. Resolve daily log and security event analysis tasks within designated SLA and KPI timelines.
• Demonstrate understanding of malware communication and propagation techniques and take the initiative to investigate and propose improvements. Support the Senior Security Analyst in generating and delivering daily reports as required
• Provide recommendations and action plans to various IT teams for remediating security events

To succeed in this L1/L2 SOC Analyst role, you must have between four and five years of work experience in SOC environment.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science majoring in Security or Network or Computer System
• Three to five years of IT security related work experience in a Security Operation Centre (SOC) environment
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Understands the security requirements necessary to perform ID administration tasks
• Good written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills and customer service skills
• Ability to work with a team and a good team player. Highly self-motivated and directed
