Database Architect (DevOps Automation)

Join a global & large-scale IT shared service team as a Database Architect to support cloud and infrastructure solution initiatives across markets. This role involves analysing business requirements, developing solutions, assessing risks and impacts, and ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Azure Cloud architecture and SaaS services, combined with leadership skills and expertise in application software and operations processes.

What you'll do:

  • Design and implement solutions on Azure Cloud using the Azure Well-Architected Framework and PaaS services like container platforms.
  • Establish best practices, standards, and guidelines for application design to ensure consistency and quality across projects.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Design policy-based governance using Azure Policies and define monitoring/logging for application software.
  • Work with key data products including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, Databricks, Redis, and Azure Synapse to enhance the data ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance and implement security measures throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (ExCo members, business leads) and external partners/vendors while managing escalations.

What you bring:

  • A degree in IT/Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years in Database Administration and minimum of 5 years in cloud architecture/design roles.
  • Proven expertise in Azure Cloud architecture and SaaS services.
  • Strong knowledge of API management and DevOps practices.
  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation) and scripting languages (Json/Yaml).
  • Familiarity with open source databases such as CosmoDB and MongoDB
  • Cooperative team player who can also work independently when required.
