DevOps Engineer, AWS (Shared Services)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to manage the full DevOps lifecycle, ensuring the availability, performance, scalability, and security of cloud and on-premises systems. The successful candidate will be proficient in AWS technologies, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and security best practices.

What you'll do:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing the full DevOps lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include automating, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining both cloud-based and on-premise systems. You will utilise your expertise in AWS technologies to build robust infrastructures while also designing efficient CI/CD pipelines. Your proactive approach to troubleshooting will ensure minimal downtime while your recommendations for system improvements will enhance scalability and efficiency.

• Automate, deploy, monitor, and maintain cloud-based and on-premise systems.
• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using services such as EC2, RDS, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, Lambda, EKS, and IAM.
• Utilise Terraform and CloudFormation to provision and manage infrastructure as code.
• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
• Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to track system health and performance.
• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues.
• Recommend and implement improvements to system architecture and operational processes.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of network diagrams, component architecture, and DevOps workflows.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this DevOps Engineer position brings a wealth of experience in the field. With at least 7 years of hands-on experience under your belt, you have developed advanced knowledge of AWS services. Your proficiency with Terraform and CloudFormation has equipped you with the skills necessary to manage infrastructure as code effectively. Your strong analytical abilities enable you to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently while your excellent communication skills facilitate effective collaboration across teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 7 years of hands-on DevOps experience.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS services.
• Proficiency with Terraform and CloudFormation for IaC.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD for building CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) and containerisation tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
