• Design and deliver robust cloud-native data platforms tailored to client needs across Southeast Asia and the wider APAC region, ensuring scalability and security.
• Develop high-value data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Purview, and other advanced Azure Data Services components.
• Leverage Microsoft Fabric tools such as OneLake, Data Pipelines, Dataflows, and Notebooks to build modernised architectures that support diverse analytical workloads.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
• Work alongside architects, analysts, and governance specialists to shape comprehensive data strategies that align with client objectives.
• Implement best practices in data modelling, SQL optimisation, performance tuning, and metadata management to ensure efficient data operations.
• Champion the adoption of modern data stack technologies including dbt, Power BI, Databricks, Delta Lake or similar tools within client environments.
• Promote strong data governance by establishing clear lineage tracking, metadata management processes, and adherence to DataOps/DevOps principles.
• Provide expert consulting services by communicating complex technical concepts in an accessible manner for non-technical audiences.
• Support the ongoing development of internal engineering capabilities by mentoring colleagues and contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• 6–8+ years of experience in data engineering or cloud-based data delivery roles with proven success in complex project environments.
• Advanced hands-on expertise with Azure Data Services including Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Purview or equivalent technologies.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Fabric tools such as OneLake, Data Pipelines, Dataflows, Notebooks for building scalable architectures.
• Excellent command of SQL for querying large datasets along with strong skills in data modelling and performance optimisation techniques.
• Experience implementing modern data stack solutions such as dbt for transformation workflows; Power BI for analytics; Databricks or Delta Lake for big data processing.
• Solid understanding of core principles around data governance including lineage tracking, metadata management frameworks, and best practices in DataOps/DevOps.
• Proven consulting experience working directly with clients or stakeholders—able to simplify complexity for non-technical audiences through clear communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration within cross-functional teams across different geographies.
• Ability to work flexibly from Malaysia while engaging collaboratively with colleagues throughout the APAC region.
