Managing Director, Strategic Data Management

The Managing Director (MD) of Strategic Data Management is responsible for leading the Bank’s enterprise-wide data agenda, encompassing governance, accessibility, and architecture. This role ensures data is secure, standardised, and readily available to support regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and business growth. In addition, you will drive the design and delivery of advanced analytics platforms and tools that enable the Bank to become truly data-driven.

What you'll do:
As MD, Strategic Data Management, you will lead the Bank’s enterprise-wide data strategy, ensuring high-quality, accessible data and enabling actionable insights. You will drive data governance, platform development, analytics delivery, and innovation, while collaborating across functions to support business growth and regulatory compliance.
• Formulate and execute enterprise-wide data management policies, frameworks, and standards to ensure consistent, compliant, and effective use of data across the Bank.

• Design and implement scalable, cost-efficient enterprise data platforms, including data lakes, warehouses, and cloud integration.
• Deliver data solutions that meet SLA requirements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Implement reconciliation and controls to maintain high-quality, trusted data for reporting, regulatory submissions, and business insights.
• Oversee creation of dashboards, data products, and BI tools to provide actionable insights for business decisions.
• Promote AI/ML, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and insight generation across the Bank.
• Build and mentor high-performing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring continuous learning and succession readiness.
• Engage with business leaders, risk, compliance, and regulators to ensure alignment on data initiatives.
• Manage budgets, vendor contracts, and cost optimisation for sustainable and efficient data operations.

Key Requirements:
• Minimum 15–20 years of experience in data management, data governance, or analytics strategy, preferably within financial services, with a proven track record in senior leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, data platforms, data quality, and analytics delivery.

• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams, implement structure, and drive transformation initiatives across complex organisations.

• Strategic, hands-on leader with strong stakeholder management, influencing, and problem-solving skills.

• Solid experience in data risk, compliance, and regulatory frameworks within a highly regulated environment.

• Professional certifications (DAMA, DCAM, CDMP) and cloud/data platform certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) are advantageous.
