What you'll do:
As Business Intelligence Team Lead based in Selangor with regional responsibilities across Southeast Asia, you will play a central role in shaping how data is leveraged throughout the organisation. - Guide the development of user-centric BI dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring they deliver impactful visualisations tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand key business questions and translate them into analytical solutions that support strategic objectives.
- Champion best practices in data storytelling, usability, and performance to maximise engagement with BI tools across the organisation.
- Plan and execute high-impact BI initiatives that align with broader business goals, managing project timelines, deliverables, and effective communication among stakeholders.
- Drive data integration efforts by connecting multiple sources into a unified BI ecosystem that supports seamless access to information.
- Partner with the Global BI Team to maintain and enhance tabular cube infrastructure, ensuring data quality, reliability, and scalability in line with global standards.
- Support global initiatives involving Spark-based data solutions, ELT pipeline design, and Data Lake management for advanced analytics capabilities.
- Serve as the primary contact for operational BI support, troubleshooting data discrepancies promptly to minimise downtime for users.
- Identify process bottlenecks within BI operations and lead continuous improvement efforts to optimise workflows and outcomes.
- Establish and document development standards, governance protocols, and quality assurance practices to foster excellence in BI delivery.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business or related fields provides a strong foundation for success in this role.
- Proficiency in Power BI including DAX (using DAX Studio, Tabular Editor) enables you to create sophisticated dashboards tailored to user requirements.
- Advanced coding skills in SQL and Python allow you to manage complex data engineering tasks efficiently.
- Basic understanding of Azure Synapse Analytics (including Synapse Pipelines; Apache Spark for Synapse; Synapse Studio) equips you for cloud-based analytics projects.
- Familiarity with ETL tools ensures smooth integration of multiple data sources into unified systems.
- Basic knowledge of SAP supports collaboration with enterprise resource planning functions.
- Experience working with APIs facilitates seamless connectivity between platforms for enhanced reporting capabilities.
- Expertise in Excel—including macros—enables detailed analysis and automation within reporting processes.
- 5–7 years’ experience in business intelligence or analytics demonstrates your ability to lead transformation projects successfully.
- Business-level proficiency in English as well as local language ensures effective communication across diverse teams.
- Industry background in retail, wholesale or consumer goods is preferred for contextual understanding of commercial operations.
