Senior Data Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Global Data team. This role offers the opportunity to manage and deliver data across the enterprise in an ever-evolving BI environment. What you'll do:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering data across the enterprise. You will be involved in all aspects of modern data warehousing, ETL, ELT, data modelling, analytics and BI. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing or modifying & performance tuning data loads via ETL / ELT processes to the data warehouse. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with fellow engineers based globally. Your ability to execute project plans to successfully meet objectives will be crucial for this role.

• Manage and deliver data across the enterprise as part of the Global Data Management Platforms & Technologies team.
• Challenge the status quo and seek out innovation in an ever-evolving BI environment.
• Participate in full life cycle activities from requirements gathering through production deployment.
• Design and develop or modify & performance tune data loads via ETL / ELT processes to the data warehouse.
• Leverage technology to collaborate & build rapport with fellow engineers globally.
• Execute project plans to successfully meet objectives, assist in data loads support activities, issue tracking, escalation, and resolution.

What you bring:

The ideal Senior Data Engineer candidate brings a Bachelor’s degree in a related field along with 5+ years of IT experience. You have spent at least 5 years in the industry as a data engineer or related specialty, with a proven track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets. Your experience includes scripting and optimizing advanced Oracle SQL & PL/SQL, working with Snowflake and ETL tools such as IDMC / IICS, ODI, SSIS, Informatica. You are proficient in Python, R, Scala and have strong experience with UNIX/Linux scripts. Experience with Cloud data solutions and architecture for BI & analytic use will be an added advantage.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years IT experience.
• 5+ years industry experience as a data engineer or related specialty with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets.
• 3+ years of experience in scripting and optimizing advanced Oracle SQL & PL/SQL.
• 2+ years of experience in Snowflake with relevant certifications.
• 2+ years of experience with ETL tools such as IDMC / IICS, ODI, SSIS, Informatica.
• Strong experience with UNIX/Linux scripts.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, R, Scala.
• Experience with Cloud data solutions and architecture for BI & analytic use.
