What you'll do:
As the Senior Manager, Data Science, you will play a pivotal role in building a strategic in-house data science capability. Your leadership will guide the delivery of advanced analytics solutions that provide actionable insights to address various business problems and opportunities. You will enable continuous improvement of data, models, and analytics visualisation through enhanced data collection, feature engineering, and application of new tools and machine learning techniques. Your keen eye will oversee the work of data scientists while ensuring compliance with data privacy and security policies.
- Build a strategic in-house data science capability
- Lead the delivery of advanced analytics solutions and actionable insights to address business problems and opportunities
- Enable continuous improvement of data, models and analytics visualisation through enhanced data collection, feature engineering and application of new tools and machine learning techniques
- Oversee the work of data scientists and monitor analytics projects by partners to ensure proper execution of duties
- Assess the data science and AI maturity of the organisation and devise a strategic roadmap for achieving higher levels of maturity
- Provide consultation and collaborate with stakeholders across the business in order to provide advanced analytic and machine learning solutions to meet business objectives
What you bring:
As our ideal candidate for the Senior Manager, Data Science position, you bring along a wealth of experience in the field. With at least 15 years under your belt, including 5 years in a leadership role, you have honed your skills in statistical modelling, machine learning techniques, and data mining. Your knowledge extends to SQL, Python, Hadoop as well as BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, and PowerBI. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills enable you to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science/ Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Sciences or related fields
- Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, Hadoop and BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik and PowerBI
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
