This role is pivotal in executing and managing the migration of foundational data across systems, ensuring accuracy and security during transfer. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in projects such as system upgrades, partner integrations, cloud migrations, mergers & acquisitions, or legacy system decommissioning.
What you'll do:
As an SAP Data Integration Engineer, your role will be central to the planning, execution, and management of foundational data migration across various systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that data is transferred accurately and securely. You will design and implement data mapping between source and target systems while maintaining respect for business rules. Your role will also involve validating, cleansing, and profiling data to ensure its accuracy before, during, and after migration. Furthermore, you will optimize database performance for handling large volumes of data during migrations.
- Plan, execute, and manage the migration of foundational data across systems
- Ensure accurate and secure transfer of data without loss or corruption
- Minimize downtime and disruptions to the business during data migration
- Design and implement data mapping between source and target systems
- Validate, cleanse, and profile data to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Optimize database performance for handling large volumes of data during migrations
- Analyze large datasets, identify anomalies, and ensure accurate mapping of source-to-target systems
- Diagnose and resolve data migration issues such as mismatches and performance bottlenecks
What you bring:
The ideal SAP Data Integration Engineer will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in SAP migration tools, relational databases, and NoSQL databases. Your proficiency in SQL, Python, Bash, PowerShell or other scripting languages will be crucial for data manipulation and automation. You will have familiarity with cloud environments like Azure or Google Cloud. Your expertise in data validation, cleansing, profiling will ensure data accuracy and consistency before, during, and after migration. Furthermore, your knowledge of database optimization techniques will be essential for handling large volumes of data during migrations.
- Expertise with SAP migration tools such as SAP Data Services (BODS), LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench), and IDOCs (Intermediate Documents)
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
- Experience with Azure Data Migration Service, Informatica, Talend, ETL tools (Extract, Transform, Load), and custom migration scripts
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Bash, PowerShell or other scripting languages for data manipulation
- Familiarity with cloud environments like Azure or Google Cloud
- Ability to design and implement data mapping between source and target systems
- Expertise in data validation, cleansing, profiling to ensure data accuracy
- Knowledge of database optimization techniques for handling large volumes of data during migrations
